Bronte Creek Equestrian

1694 Centre Road, Hamilton, ON L8N 2Z7

School on the cross-country courses at Bronte Creek Equestrian with clinician, Licensed EC Coach, Judith Bisiker.

Clinician: Judith Bisiker

Judith is a seasoned eventer who has represented Canada at international horse trials at the highest level and now operates Bronte Creek Equestrian. While just out of her teens, Judith competed at the CCI 4* level. At 21, she represented Canada at the Badminton, Burghley, and Windsor Horse Trials.

By the early 1980s, she was long listed to become a team member of the Canadian Olympic Three-Day Event Team. Also in the 1980s, Judith rode as a member of the Canadian team that took second place at the Student’s Nation Cup where she won first place as the top individual rider. Judith is actively involved in Ontario eventing as one of nine Organizers of sanctioned horse trials in the province and as one of three selectors for the OEA U25 Team.

The following principles are at the core of Judith’s approach: provide outstanding care to the horses at Bronte Creek; safety comes first at all times; and offer a teaching style that embraces a positive, calm and methodical approach helping each rider to realize their goals and their potential.

Format

  • Supervised schooling in small groups based on a horse and rider’s experience.

  • Open to all riders at all levels.

  • In the event that the schooling day fills up, priority will go to:

    • Riders who are new to eventing or those trying cross country for the first time.

OEA Prep Day Clinic

Sunday, April 28, 2024

Wits End Farm

996300 Mulmur-Tosorontio Town Line, Mulmur, ON, L9V 0N2

Horse and rider combinations had the opportunity to school all three phases of a horse trial in partnership with recognized clinicians. This early schooling opportunity was designed to help prepare riders and new eventers for the season ahead.

Participants were free to choose to attend the full day of mini clinics, choose individual sessions or register for schooling only at the discretion of the venues availability.

  • Dressage clinician: Jo Young is an international dressage judge and coach.

  • Stadium clinician: Sally Sainsbury is an EC registered course designer and coach.

  • Cross country clinician: Kendal Lehari is OEA’s U25 captain, an FEI national team rider and an EC high performance coach.

Supervised schooling in small groups, at each discipline/phase based on horse and rider’s experience and capabilities.

For dressage and stadium, riders rode the test/assigned course and the coach provided each rider with feedback on how to improve their score. Riders were then able to ride the course again and get more feedback.

Cross country was set in small group schooling formats coached through exercises gaged to each of the groups showing levels.

The clinic was consistent with the philosophy underlying our Schooling Days program and was open to new eventers and non-eventers.
