SUCCEED Cross-Country Masterclass

The Clinician

 

Lucinda Green is a six-time Badminton winner and revered coach who brings her world-class expertise to this cross-country clinic designed for coaches and riders. With decades of experience developing horses and riders on cross-country, Lucinda’s proven methods focus on safety, adaptability, and confidence over varied terrain. Whether you're a coach looking to refine your teaching or a rider eager to sharpen your skills, this clinic promises to offer invaluable insights from one of Eventing’s greatest minds. Don’t miss the chance to witness and discuss her tried and true training techniques in person or to elevate your cross-country performance at the very start of the 2025 season.

 

The Venue

 

Set against a backdrop of spectacular natural beauty, Glen Oro Farm delivers an outstanding cross-country experience in an inspiring, well-maintained and safe setting. It is a perfect venue for the SUCCEED XC Masterclass, featuring first-class courses ranging from entry levels to EV115 that can challenge and develop both horse and rider. With excellent early-season footing, mixed terrain, and an inventory of beautifully designed fences, it provides the ideal training environment to build confidence and skill at all levels. The Ontario Eventing season kicks off at Glen Oro on Sunday, May 11 so the timing couldn’t be better for Ontario’s eventers.

 

The Format

 

Riders: Registrations close at midnight on February 28.

The Masterclass will consist of four groups of four riders each riding for a total of 3.5 hours.

  • Day 1 (Tues., April 29) will be held in the large sand ring and covering principles and techniques to support effective XC riding. On Day 2 (Weds, April 30) the groups will move to the cross-country course.

  • There is a wrap-up session in the big tent for coaches at the end of each day that all are invited to attend.

  • The clinic will be video-taped and footage made available for the wrap-up sessions. Video footage can also be purchased by riders.

  • Sixteen (16) individuals will be selected to ride by lottery after the entries close.

  • Groups and ride times will be announced on March 3 at which time riders must send payment to confirm their place.

  • Any cancellations after payment is received will not be refunded unless we can fill your spot.

  • The rider considered by the clinician to be the most inspiring/improved over the 2-day Masterclass will be awarded a 3-month supply of SUCCEED Equine digestive health supplements.

  • The horse considered by the clinician to have the “Most International Potential” will be awarded a 3-month supply of the joint mobiliser 4CYTE.

  • Rider Entry fee: (2 days)         $500 (OEA members)

 

Coaches:  Registrations close at midnight on Friday, April 18.

Alongside the riders, the Masterclass will deliver an immersive learning experience for coaches.

  • Coaches are invited to register to shadow Lucinda in the sand ring and on the XC courses.

  • Each day will conclude with a dedicated wrap-up session (min 3 hrs over 2 days) for coaches in the big tent where refreshments and finger-food will be served. Lucinda will review key takeaways and schooling techniques, analyze video footage and facilitate a discussion on coaching strategies and horse/rider development for effective cross-country riding.

  • All coaches are welcome to register.

  • Certified coaches can earn up to 3 Professional Development Points from EC.

  • Coach Entry fee: (2 days)     $100 (OEA members)

                                                      $150 (non-OEA members)

 

Auditors: Registration closes at midnight on Friday, April 25.

Auditors are invited and encouraged to observe the Masterclass on one or both days.

  • Please send payment at time of registration to confirm your spot.

  • OEA 2025 Ontario U25 Riders and one member of a Clinic-rider’s support group may audit at no charge but are asked to register to help us keep track of numbers.

  • Bring a chair.

  • Auditor Entry fees:    $ 50 (1-day, OEA members)

                                          $ 65 (1-day, non-OEA members)

                                          $ 85 (2-days, OEA members)

                                          $100 (2-days, non-OEA members)

 

All Entry fees (riders, coaches and auditors) include morning coffee/muffins (2 days) and gourmet sandwiches and snacks at lunch (2 days). Refreshments and finger food are included for the end-of-day sessions with coaches.
