OEA Steps in to Support the Equestrian Industry

OEA Support to Sustain Eventing

During this unprecedented time in the Equestrian industry and the incredible challenges to our sport, the OEA wants to support both our members and our organizers to sustain Eventing in the years to come, even if we are not able to compete in 2020.  We recognize that cross country courses and other competition facilities need ongoing upkeep with or without competitors on the property.  In the spirit of our long-term commitment to the sustainability of the sport, during COVID-19, the OEA Board has agreed to provide a grant to organizers, with no restrictions,  through our Competition Improvement Program.  The grant amount will be  $1500 per organizer as long as they had at least one sanctioned event on the schedule in 2020.  The grant will be provided whether organizers are able to run their event or not in 2020 and is intended to help with course and facility maintenance and improvement.

OEA Supports EC for COVID-19 Lobbying Efforts

The OEA was approached by Equestrian Canada to help with their lobby efforts for government and stakeholder support for our equine industry. Recognizing the impact of COVID-19 on member schooling barns and boarding facilities, the OEA donated the requested  $1,000 to this lobbying effort.
