Regional U25/YR Year-End Finale 2023

Regional U25/YR Year-End Finale & Team Challenge, October 14-15 2023 at Wesley Clover Park

The OEA is organizing a U25 Regional Year-End Finale under the auspices of the Eastern Canadian Eventing Championships at Wesley Clover Parks in Ottawa on October 14-15, 2023.

All U25 riders from Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes entered in the Championships (or Regular divisions) are invited to participate as individuals and as part of a team.

How to enter:

  1. – Enter the division that you have qualified for from EV60 to EV110 on Event Entries.

  2. – Please indicate on your entry that you are interested in being part of the U25 Year-End Finale (there are no dedicated U25 classes).

  3. – Riders must be under 25 as of Jan 1, 2023, but do not have to be a member of a Provincial Horse Trial Association U25 Program in 2023.

  4. – Your score will be pulled out, along with other U25 entries in the same division, to determine U25 placings in each division.

  5. – Riders may participate both as individuals only or as individuals and part of a team.

How to make up a team:

  1. – Put together a group of 3 or 4 horses and riders (teams of 3 may have a 4th added to their team).

  2. – Teams can include riders from all divisions (EV60 to EV110).

  3. – You don’t have a team but want to participate? No problem. We’ll create a team or add you to an existing team.

  4. – Teams, or individuals who would like to be added to a team, must fill out and submit the attached entry form by Weds, Oct. 11 at 3pm: https://forms.gle/QbmGYpVvzxyeQHUM7.

  5. – If you submit a team, don’t forget to give it a fun name!

How it works:

  1. – Teams will be posted on Thursday, October 12.

  2. – If a team member is eliminated, they will incur a score of 1000.

  3. – Teams of 4 will have the highest final score dropped.

  4. – The top six teams (lowest total scores) will receive fancy neck ribbons and fabulous prizes (including cash prizes) in addition to their individual U25 division ribbons/prizes AND any ribbons/prizes that the individual riders win in the Champs or Regular divisions.

  5. – Best of all, participation is FREE!

Highlights:

  1. – An educational ‘practice’ jog. Prizes for best dressed.

  2. – The opportunity to compete with horses and riders from other provinces.

  3. – A team challenge. Teams of 3 or 4 riders will be assembled across divisions so that competitors get the experience of what it’s like to be part of a team (make your own team or we add you to a team).

  4. – A BBQ on site on Saturday evening hosted by the OEA.

  5. – Fancy sponsored ribbons and prizes.
