All OEA members are invited to join Elise Hicks for a special two-part webinar as part of our new Winter Webinar Series!
Elise is a former event rider with experience at the North American level representing Ontario at North American Youth Championships in 2019. Elise is now a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and pairs her clinical knowledge with first-hand experience to help riders target mental health challenges that impact performance.
Elise will be leading two webinars targeting different performance assistance topics to reflect on the off-season and prepare for the 2026 competition season.
In the first webinar, Targeting Post Season Reflection, Elise will explore how to reflect on your 2025 season and use this awareness to prepare for what areas you’d like to improve your mental performance in and set goals for the 2026 season. The first seminar will be interactive sharing experiences and learning to build emotional awareness, detect symptoms of anxiety or stress, and identify stressors. Elise will also be taking topic requests at the end of this session for what riders want to focus on learning for their 2026 season.
The second webinar, 2026 Season Preparation, will focus largely on learning and implementing strategies for managing anxiety, pressure, perfectionism, and preventing burnout to prepare for this year’s season.
The goal of these webinars is to gain a better understanding of the importance of mental performance in maintaining focus and energy during the offseason and for supporting your goals in competition.
